Systems Center Inc, Reston, Virginia has acquired distribution rights for the AM:PM software developed by Tangram Systems Corp of Raleigh, North Carolina and has also announced two network software products, jointly developed with Digital Equipment Corp. The latter, Polycenter SNA Manager and Solve: Connect for Enterprise Management Architecture, enable both DECmcc and IBM Corp SNA wide area networks to be managed, in either environment, from a single console. Solve interacts with DEC’s Polycenter SNA Manager to link DECmcc and System Center’s Net/Master or IBM’s NetView. Both new products contain access and presentation modules for directing commands to, and accepting commands from, remote management systems, and a server for connecting systems and routing messages. Solve and Polycenter SNA Manager will be available from November 14 from DEC and Systems Center. Tangram’s AM:PM software for Novell Inc NetWare and OS/2 local area networks and MS-DOS, OS/2 and Macintosh micros in an SNA network will also be distributed by Systems Center. AM:PM is to be integrated with System’s Solve:Configuration and Solve:Change applications for managing hardware and software inventory and tracking changes to systems and network resources. Prices for it will go from UKP50,000 to UKP250,000 depending on numbers of local network servers.
