FastStack installs Cupertino, California-based SugarCRM’s Sugar Professional or Sugar Enterprise software along with the Apache web server, the PHP scripting language, and the MySQL database.
The three are commonly combined with Linux to form the LAMP stack, but run on all major operating systems, and in this case FastStack is designed for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. Sugar FastStack costs $499, while additional Sugar Professional and Sugar Enterprise subscriptions cost $275 and $449 per user per year respectively.
Sugar FastStack is designed to remove the complexity involved with installing and running an open source software stack and reach a middle ground between the ease of installation involved with on-demand solutions and the control of traditional on-site software.
The company already offers its software as an on-demand and on-site software as well as the Sugar Cube hardware appliance.
