Step aside Millenials, Generation Z hungry for business

News: Generation Z more demanding than Baby Boomers, Gen X and Millennials.

By Joao Lima

Generation Z are about to pose major challenges for businesses, despite employers still worrying about integrating and accommodating Millennials in the workplace.

A study has found that those currently aged 19 years and younger – Generation Z – have higher workplace expectations and will become more quickly frustrated than older groups.

Salary aside, 48% of Generation Z said the main attractions to a company are a work-life balance, followed by working with great people (47%), then flexible working hours, good perks and job security (42%).

Ricoh Europe also found that 34% of those surveyed said they are attracted to a company that enables them to feel like they are making a difference to the world, contrasting with 13% of Baby Boomers, 14% of Gen X and 15% of Millennials.

Those surveyed warned they will become frustrated far more easily than older generations, as 43% said they would be irritated by a lack of communication from colleagues, compared to 19% from previous generations.
