SSA ERP (LN) will be pre-loaded and integrated on an IBM AMD Opteron processor-based BladeCenter Linux platform, along with SSA’s WebSphere-based integration technology plus the IBM WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus, IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM DB2, and the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server from Novell.

The package is aimed at discrete hybrid manufacturers, with the aim of reducing the time and cost of implementing an ERP system. SSA is also using it as a vehicle for its SOA implementation, setting users up with the infrastructure needed to take advantage of the agility and reuse capabilities promised by SOA. Novell SUSE Linux and AMD’s Opteron processors provide 64-bit performance and dual-core processing, indicating future scalability.
