Sling Media’s new software, which reportedly works with any device that uses Microsoft’s Windows Mobile Platform versions 4.0 or 5.0, adds capabilities to its Slingbox hardware which allows users to access home entertainment direct from a remote computer.
According to Reuters, Sling Media co-founder and head of business development Jason Krikorian said that, in addition to improved picture quality, the new software offers other enhanced features and greater customization options.
Sling Media is not expected to draw in any further fee other than the original purchase price of the Slingware hardware. Costs of the service will depend on the rates levied by various carriers for mobile data services.
