Siliwood Entertainment Corp of Los Angeles wants to build a holographic empire, and has reached definitive agreement to acquire New Visual Entertainment Inc and Infinity Vision Entertainment Inc of San Diego, in a cash and shares transaction. Siliwood develops and produces holographic three-dimensional content and hardware for video, move and television viewing, and buying the two companies will provide it with the strategic ability to revolutionize home and location-based visual entertainment markets by licensing, creating, developing, financing and producing affordable three-dimensional films and videos. The companies own proprietary camera and projection lenses that Siliwood says will enable it to produce high quality holographic three-dimensional material or almost any film format at standard production costs because the lens and projection systems can be used on conventional two-dimensional production equipment to produce the holographic images. Post production and projection can also be done using standard two-dimensional equipment fitted with the three-dimensional lens. Siliwood says it plans to develop a US-wide distribution system through wholly-owned, franchised, fixed and mobile holographic three-dimensional centers using its proprietary technology, and that it can deliver the material directly to the home entertainment market via a viewing system that costs about $50 per household and enables the images to enter the home over any standard broadcast, cable or satellite transmission, as well as playback systems. Terms of the purchases were not disclosed.
