Scitor Ltd, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, has announced Sitavision, a multiprotocol network management system for Scitor network users, said to monitor X25, X28 and SNA Direct Access Connections. Frame Relay monitoring is to be added during the second quarter of next year. Scitor is providing the system as a complete turnkey offering, including all hardware and software: it runs on the IBM Corp PS/2 system and is said to provide a graphical display of network connections, including each connection’s configuration parameters, while performance statistics are said to include traffic statistics, mean time between failures, mean time to repair and round trip delay between any two nodes. The information is held centrally on Sita’s Network Management Server, and provided on request to the client workstation via a dedicated X25 link; in this way, the client also has access to the central SITA Station director, including local contact numbers and electronic mail addresses. The service will cost $3,000 per month.
