SAMSys and Microsoft plan to deliver low-cost, simple and open Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) programs that comply with global standards.

Other members of the Council include major consulting firms, system integrators, independent software venders (ISVs), and RFID hardware manufacturers which design, produce and implement RFID reader platforms throughout the world.

We are continuing to expand our RFID product-strategy with key partners based on the needs of the industry, said Balasubramanian Sriram, product unit manager for RFID strategy at Microsoft. Working with RFID solution providers like SAMSys is part of our commitment to work closely with our customers and partners to ensure they receive the greatest value and opportunity when building their RFID solutions with Microsoft technologies.

Through the RFID Council, Microsoft is building an open software platform on which partners can create RFID solutions that enable their customers to provide increased levels of product and asset visibility across their enterprise supply chain.
