Rolm Corp has signed up two companies to its complementary application programme, under which it markets products from other vendors to expand its range of business applications. From Sherman Oaks, California, the Angeles Group Inc adds Cable-Master, a voice and data cable inventory and automatic line-assigning system. The software automatically assigns and manages cables, circuits, ports, outlets, routes, and work order activity. It is used to control cabling and related equipment for voice and data installations. Angeles claims that Cable-Master reduces the costs of new installations. It is available in three versions: Single Site, residing on a personal computer and managing voice and data cables of a single site; Multi-Site, capable of managing voice-data cables of multiple sites and Network Version, residing on an MS-DOS-based local network and managing voice-data cables of multiple sites. It has simultaneous access, limited only by constraints of the local area network. Granada Systems Design Inc, based in New York, has also joined the programme with Bankpak, a voice response system designed for customer service centres at banks, insurance companies and brokerage firms. Enquiries supported include account balance, last 10 transactions, date/amount of cheques processed, price/yield of mutual fund, and credit card information. The system comprises hardware, software and speech options. Bankpak is used with the Rolm 9750 CBX PABX range or the IBM 9270 VRU.
