Racal-Redac (UK) Ltd has won a UKP1.2m order to provide electronic design automation hardware and software for the Chloride Group Plc, the producer of power electronics, power supplies and emergency lighting. Using Sun Microsystems Inc Sparcstation 2 workstations, Chloride will use Racal’s Visula Expert series of electronic design tools, and Structured Design Research Corp’s I-DEAS mechanical design automation software and data management control system, which will be linked into an MRPII system. The order, to be phased in over two years, involves UK sites in Eastleigh and Peterborough, US sites in Rochester and Wilmington, as well as further sites in France, Italy, Mexico and Thailand.
