The UK’s Pericom Software Ltd, a division of Milton Keynes-based Pericom Plc, which also has a subsidiary in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, has enhanced its teem-X range of terminal emulation software to support graphical user interfaces. Versions for Sun Microsystems Inc’s Sun-3 and Sparcstation are now available with both Open Look and Motif graphical user interfaces supplied as standard, enabling users to choose which one to use for a particular workstation configuration. Other versions not supporting Open Look, such as Silicon Graphics Inc Iris, IBM Corp RS/6000 and Hewlett-Packard Co HP9000 have been upgraded to support Motif. The current teem-x graphical user interface will gradually be phased out. The teem-x range enables existing software to be displayed in X Window format without conversion, emulating software written for the Digital Equipment Corp VT320/340 or Tektronix Inc, Hewlett-Packard, Data General Corp and Retrographics standards. Other hardware systems include Apollo, DECstations and VMS VAXstations, Motorola Inc 88000 and various X-terminals.
