Orange Micro Inc is said to be one of the companies involved in the Apple Computer Inc announcements scheduled to take place on May 11th, the first day of the Apple Developer’s Conference. Anaheim, California-based Orange is a provider of PC co-processor boards for the Macintosh, and its OrangePC coprocessor card enables the Macintosh to run Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows 3.1 and MS-DOS applications simultaneously with Macintosh apps. The latest PCI versions are compatible with G3 Macintoshes and come with either Windows95 or Windows NT 4.0 Workstation operating systems. 32-bit driver software is also now available. At the Developer’s Conference in San Jose, Steve Jobs is expected to set out the companies operating system and software strategy for the next two years, and speculation has it that the announcement will contain some kind of PC compatibility content. Apple no longer offers hardware compatibility options on the Mac, and is instead working on providing software compatibility through the Blue Box software compatibility environment.
