SAP Co-CEO Bill McDermott said they would be willing to license their HANA (High-Performance Analytics Appliance) offering to Oracle.
McDermott added that a technological platform would not be real if it was not open to everyone, including competitors.
Dell, Fujitsu, HP and other SAP partners are said to be working on HANA application, which allows companies to interpret business information quickly.
It combines SAP software components optimised on hardware provided by its partners.
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper quoted Bill McDermott as saying "That would be possible. The question is whether Oracle can imagine it,"
Executive Board member and CTO SAP Vishal Sikka said HANA would be capable of porting its other modules in the Business Suite product ERP module by infusing In-memory Database support.
Telecom companies such as T-mobile run the ERP SAP software, reportedly providing improved results from the system installed last year.
HANA, which is available in appliance form from a number of hardware vendors, is designed to simplify business processes.
