Oracle has introduced three new Validated Configurations to speed the deployment of offerings based on its Linux with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel.

The three new configurations consist of Oracle Linux 5 with the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel, Database 11g, Real Application Clusters, Sun ZFS Storage 7420 appliance. They come with one of the following: Sun Fire X4800 server, an 8-socket rackmount x86 system, with QLogic FC HBAs; Sun Fire X4470 server, a 4-socket rackmount system; and Sun Fire X4270 M2 server, a 2-socket rackmount system.

Oracle said that the Validated Configurations enable easier, faster, and lower-cost deployment of Linux and VM offerings in the enterprise, by offering practices via pre-tested, validated architectures that help improve the reliability of offerings.

In addition, the three Validated Configurations enables customers to deploy a modern, reliable, and optimised corporate IT infrastructure using enterprise hardware and software.

The offerings also allow partners to showcase how their offerings seamlessly integrate with Oracle’s hardware and software to offer customers a scalable and reliable Linux-based architecture, along with the fastest way to deploy it.

Oracle linux and virtualisation engineering senior vice-president Wim Coekaerts said through Validated Configurations, customers benefit from pre-tested, verified configurations delivered by Oracle and their partners.

"This enables customers to reduce the time they spend on testing and deployment, allowing them to focus more on managing their infrastructure and developing new business offerings," Coekaerts said.

The company said that the new Validated Configurations are available on the Oracle Technology Network.
