Hardware manufacturers that are going through hard times seem to regard a move into systems integration as a way out of their problems, although it’s hard to see why users should want to appoint a poacher as their gamekeeper: at all events, Ing C Olivetti & Co SpA has teamed up with Andersen Consulting, which claims to have done $907.5m of business in Europe last year, to offer systems integration services across Europe, and the partnership looks to grow into a $150m to $200m business in the banking sector over the next three years; Olivetti and Andersen have worked together for several years in Denmark and Spain.
