Ofcom has selected Indian software solutions provider NIIT Technologies as its outsourcing partner.
Under a £23m contract, NIIT will help Ofcom in managing its infrastructure and application systems.
The company will implement a service delivery model with new service management processes and tools.
The six-year deal also includes service desk, data centre services, application management and project management. It has an initial term of four years, plus extensions.
NIIT Technologies EVP and Europe head Satya Samal said: "We are confident that we will be able to deliver value to Ofcom through our strong understanding and proven capabilities in the application and infrastructure management services domain."
Ofcom ICT director David Doherty said: "We set out to select a partner who will align well with our organisational culture, manage transition smoothly, provide a robust technical solution and focus on innovation.
"NIIT’s solution for Ofcom fits well to these needs and we look forward to working with the company over the coming years."
Ofcom’s auction of spectrum currently held by the Ministry of Defence is due to take place this year.
