Advanced imaging and 3D solutions company, DDD Group, has launched its Yabazam 3D movie app on Panasonic VIERA Connect 3D Smart TVs.
The app gives 3D TV owners access to a wide range of 3D programming, including movies, documentaries, action sports and animated shorts from producers around the world.
During March, Yabazam will become available to Panasonic customers in 17 countries, including the UK, US, Japan, Korea, Germany and Russia. The 3D programming is offered on a subscription basis in the US and titles are available for on-demand rental in the other countries.
Already available on Samsung and LG Smart TVs and via the Google PlayTM Store for AndroidTM 3D tablets, the Yabazam 3D app has been downloaded more than 700,000 times and averages 2,000 user sessions per day.
Yabazam’s rapidly growing library has more than 130 3D programs and new titles are added regularly. Recently released titles include the award-winning mini-series about French Olympic athletes, Beyond the Games, and the German produced feature length documentary Dance!
Chris Yewdall, CEO of DDD, said: "3D has already become a standard feature on the majority of high end TV sets and forecasts indicate that 58% of all TVs will have 3D capabilities by 2017. As a result, there is strong and ever increasing demand for 3D content. We are delighted to be extending our quality 3D programming to Panasonic 3D TV owners."
