According to Intelek, the total project will require $1.3 million of modems to support satellite backhaul links in three phases before the end of March 2009. Paradise Datacom will be supplying its Evolution modems configured with features specifically designed for cellular backhaul applications.

Ian Brodie, chief executive of Intelek, said: The modem’s special features allow our customers to reduce physical quantities and improve system reliability providing network diagnostic tools only available in Paradise Datacom modems.

In May 2008, Paradise Datacom announced the creation of a maintenance and repair center in India. Services will be performed by Eltel Systems in their facility located in Bangalore. The declaration came with a recent announcement by the company regarding the establishment of a sales and service facility in Bangkok, Thailand. According to the company, it would open a similar facility in China to support the business.

Paradise Datacom designs and manufactures satellite modems, transceivers, block up-converters, solid state power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers and associated equipment for the terrestrial segment of the satellite communications market. It is also a commercial satellite earth station equipment manufacturer with manufacturing and support facilities in both Europe and North America.
