CIO Connect is a networking forum for chief information officers of various organisations in the UK. It has about 250 members. The forum enables its members, CIOs and their teams, to share their experiences with others by organising programs like conferences, roundtables and special interest groups.
According to CIO Connect, it offers an online information service, a quarterly magazine and conducts research on various topics of relevance to members. It also provides leadership development training to CIOs.
Nick Kirkland, CEO of CIO Connect, said: Independence allows us to completely dedicate our organisation to the CIO and their agenda. Our success is now inextricably tied to the success of our members.
The acquisition of CIO has been funded by secondary venture capital investments specialist Shackleton. Hugh Stewart, managing partner of Shackleton, will join the new board of CIO Connect.
The new management plans to make additional investments in the organisation. Kirkland said: We are now free to make additional investment in the network to further improve on the experience members receive, including investment in member relationship and services.
Michael Gough, CEO of NCC, said: This additional investment in CIO Connect will enable it to grow to the next level and allows NCC to focus on its mission of championing the effective deployment and professional management of IT within the UK.
NCC is a social enterprise owned by and run for the benefit of its members. It offers its members services such as independent advice and support, best practice and standards, personal and professional development, managed service delivery, awareness and experience sharing.
Through its services, NCC intends to support IT and IS professionals and their teams through their management careers. It also advocates maximised use of IT in the businesses of its members.
