Under this arrangement, Enablence will be supplying its planar lightwave circuit (PLC) based reconfigurable optical add drop multiplexers (ROADM) and its PLC-based arrayed waveguide gratings products.

Enablence’s iROAD provides an integrated solution for ROADMs with power monitoring and automatic channel balancing. It enables carriers to switch traffic and reconfigure networks to match the changing bandwidth needs of customers. ROADM makes this traffic switch automatically.

The Arrayed Waveguide Gratings (AWG) is used in optical networks to combine a number of wavelengths into a single optical fiber. Enablence’s AWGs come in colorless and polarization maintaining options, and combine as many as 80 wavelengths into a single fiber.

Arvind Chhatbar, CEO of Enablence, said: Enablence has been a leading supplier for Arrayed Waveguide Gratings for the European and North American markets for many years. This win from a major Chinese equipment manufacturer is very significant for us as it is a further indication of our strong customer focus and competitive position in the global market place.
