According to Wavion, its WBS-2400 base station will deliver high-speed internet access (Wi-Fi) to large and small towns, as well as rural villages in Nigeria. Its WBS-2400 beamforming base stations are claimed to provide extended range and throughput and enables quality Wi-Fi connectivity to standard clients such as those embedded in laptops and other computers. Wavion’s Wi-Fi base station is claimed to triple the coverage and double the capacity in comparison to standard access points (APs).

Sandeep Jayaswal, managing director of Emperion, said: “This is the first nationwide deployment in Nigeria targeting Internet services under one umbrella. Emperion Franchise, through its Hot Zones program, aims to provide Internet services working with local partners all over the country.”
