NetSuite has entered the emerging market for enterprise mobile apps as it launches its software cloud on Android.

Comprising enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM) and ecommerce, NetSuite for Android promises to allow businessmen to manage sales, expenses and diaries whilst on the road.

Evan Goldberg, chief technology officer at NetSuite, said: "NetSuite for Android is unique. Designed mobile-first, it’s the world’s only end-to-end cloud business management mobile app which brings full mobile and unified ERP, CRM and ecommerce functionality to Android smartphone users."

NetSuite for Android is particularly targeted towards salesmen and managers, allowing both to manage their records from outside the office, respond to tasks and access information such as client locations.

Whilst NetSuite claims the product is a world-first, it is likely to draw comparisons with the Salesforce 1 mobile app, launched last year amidst much hype, as well as other offerings from Microsoft and Oracle.

"We believe in empowering companies and their employees so they can fully participate in the mobile revolution," Goldberg said.

"Every day, mobile devices, particularly smartphones, are playing a larger role in a growing number of day-to-day business activities."
