NEI, a provider of application platforms, appliances and support services for software developers, OEMs and service providers worldwide, has released 1U server appliance for enterprise-class application deployments.
The company said that the new S-1900 R2 appliance combines dual multi-core Intel Xeon 5500 processor performance with integrated hardware RAID and dual redundant 650W AC power supplies to maximise reliability and uptime for business-critical applications.
According to NEI, key features of the S-1900 R2 include four hot swap SATA/SAS hard drives for up to four terabytes of storage, twelve slots of DDR3 memory for up to 96GB of total memory, and two full-height, full-length PCIe and one low-profile expansion slots.
Additionally, the platform supports up to eight processing cores per system and can host either Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems.
NEI said S-1900 R2 when coupled with its Smart Services software will deliver greater dependability backed by monitoring capabilities, making it suitable for data and video storage applications, network and web security, IP communications and other enterprise applications.
