NCR Corp has launched a comprehensive program to provide companies with a complete multi-user Windows NT-based enterprise computing system. The program, called RightStart for Multi-user NT, bundles NCR design and implementation services, NCR value- added software, and NCR-branded hardware ranging from 8-way servers to thin clients. RightStart is designed to implement multi-user NT environments utilizing Microsoft Windows NT Server, Terminal Server Edition and Citrix MetaFrame in 90 days or less. It will assist customers in rolling out 25, 50 and 100 user thin- client/server configurations. NCR says the RightStart offering will be the first in a series of quick-to-market NT initiatives that NCR will roll out within the next year. The program is intended to complement other similar market-specific offerings. The company is hoping to capitalize on the market for thin clients which International Data Corp predicts 6.8 million units by 2002, five million of which are expected to be Windows-based terminals. RightStart will begin shipping in mid-August. Prices will vary by configuration and will include an architecture and design service, NCR servers, thin clients, Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition and NCR advanced multi-user Windows NT software. Also available will also come with an Architecture and Design service and a Citrix WinFrame to Microsoft Terminal Server migration service.
