Microsoft has unveiled plans to step up its Windows 10 IoT Core by integrating Secure Boot and Bitlocker encryption.
The Windows 10 IoT Core was revealed back in August and is a version of Windows 10 targeted towards small, embedded devices that may or may not have screens.
The company said the update will be available to people taking part in the Windows Insider Program.
Steve Teixeira, director of program management for the IoT team in Microsoft’s OS Group, said: "By building this into IoT Core you can get these highly valuable security features without needing to build your own implementations meaning you can get your project done faster and still be more secure."
The company has also announced an IoT partnership with Adafruit to release a hardware Starter Kit designed to ease consumers learning of electronics, Windows 10 IoT Core and Raspberry Pi 2.
