Electronics and semiconductor design software provider Mentor Graphics Corp claims to be the first electronic design automation (EDA) house to provide a year 2000-compliant product. The Wilsonville, Oregon-based company says its latest software release, C.2, is completely Y2K ready. The product is the result of two years of internal reviews and testing of source code, Mentor says, with an engineering team performing manual checks to insure compliance. The company says all aspects of the design environment, including application software, operating systems, hardware and firmware, were evaluated to ensure accurate exchanges of date data. Mentor Graphics customers with support contracts will automatically receive the C.2 upgrade and may also take advantage of optional services for help in troubleshooting transitional issues, identifying third-party dependencies and analyzing interaction with in-house tools.
