Maynard Archive, Lake Mary, Florida has announced that its ArchiveST line of SCSI interface tape drives has passed the company’s testing procedures for compatibility with Sun Microsystems’ workstations and servers: Sun systems involved in the testing were the Sparcstation 330, Sparcstation 1, Sparcstation 1+, Sun-4/110, Sun-3/50 and Sun-3/60 workstations and the tests were conducted using SunOS 4.0.1 and 4.1.; the company claims that its ArchiveST SCSI drives have a Mean Time Between Failure rating of more than 40,000 hours, and for Unix users, end-users, ArchiveST comes in prepackaged kits which include the drive and terminators, mounting hardware and cables required for use with workstations; the kits are available as internal or external units, in 250Mb and 525Mb capacities and 2Gb 4mm digital audio tape format; ArchiveST products are from $1,230 to $4,475.
