Half of information security managers believe their applications are vulnerable to hackers, according to a new report.
Quotium Technologies’ latest report revealed that only 11% of managers trust their applications’ security level, with 80% believing ‘off the shelf’ applications are not secure.
This is despite most major organisations testing the vulnerabilities of their web applications.
The majority of surveyed organisations have implemented penetration testing services, automated testing tools or web application firewalls to protect their assets.
However, most of the security managers were unaware of the current level of their application’s security and believed their applications were vulnerable to cyber threats.
About half of them did not know how often hackers targeted their software currently faced by their organisation.
The study highlighted that despite high investment into protecting applications, they remained vulnerable and continue to be attacked.
