Lina Software has released the beta version of its application portability offering LINA 1.0, which it will allow Linux software developers to reach new markets efficiently, and run Linux applications without migrating from existing hardware.
According to the Lina Software, an open source software LINA enables Linux applications to run on all major operating systems, including Windows, Mac, and Linux. The new LINA’s single code base allows developers to market to users of all three major platforms with a single executable.
In addition, the new software also includes click-through application installers that simplify enterprise deployment and reduce costly end-user support. It also allows developers to reuse open source Linux components compiled for LINA to accelerate product time-to-market.
The LINA applications run at native speeds on Linux operating systems and at near-native speeds on other operating systems, the company said.
James McGreen, CEO of Lina Software, said: Our goal is to create widespread adoption of Open Source Linux software by a radical departure from business as usual. Our mission statement captures this revolutionary goal, ‘one world, one source.’
The LINA 1.0 beta version was released under the GNU General Public License, version 2.
