Charlotte, North Carolina-based Lead Technologies Inc has a new Dynamic Link Library designed to enable Windows application developers to tap image file compression, conversion and processing facilities: it claims that image files can shrink by up to 255:1, yet maintain unprecedented image quality when restored; the Link Library can convert among most popular image file formats, and supports JPEG, LZW and RLE compressions; LeadTools Windows DLL is available without compression for $250, with support for software compression for $1,000, or with both software and hardware compression (including two of the company’s new $1,500 Leadview 255 Compression Boards, for $3,000; the Lead products are all offered on royalty-free basis.
