There’s at least one area where UK telecommunications is not racing ahead of the continent – figures from the latest Frost & Sullivan report – ‘The European Market for Cable TV Hardware Equipment’ shows Belgium with the largest penetration of cable television – 93% of Belgian homes with televisions also have cable, and that will rise to 99% by 1997, says the report: Germany has the largest potential market (it is, after all the biggest country) – but why are so many people in the Benelux countries on cable?
