UK households are adopting smart home robotic solutions at an incredible speed, with one in three British adults now relying on outside housework help.

A survey of 1,000 UK consumers has shown that orders for robotic vacuum cleaners and robotic floor mopping devices are up 259% and 173% respectively in the past six months.

According to AppliancesDirect.co.uk, one in four UK adults has claimed to have used professional cleaning services at least once in the past, while 16% enlist the help of a cleaner on a regular basis.

41% of those surveyed said their busy professional and personal lives mean they would invest in some sort of help which means they do not have to do housework.

Mark Kelly, marketing manager at AppliancesDirect.co.uk said: "Britons no longer have to rely on paying out on a regular basis in order to get this assistance.

"The surge in sales we have seen over the past six months shows just how much demand is increasing for help that is less intrusive and more economical in the long term."
