Intel will collaborate with the US based watch maker Fossil to develop a wearable technology for the fashion industry.
Fossil is known for creating watches and fashion accessories and by teaming up with a fashion brand Intel is planning to target the fashion oriented customers.
Fossil Group CEO Kosta Kartsotis said: "Combining our fashion lifestyle brands with Intel’s expertise in technology, hardware and innovation will position us to be a leader in this segment."
Intel vice president Mike Bell said: "The combination of Intel’s technology and Fossil Group’s ability to design innovative fashion accessories and to create, market and distribute globally is why we are confident about this initiative."
"We are focused on identifying trends and emerging uses of technology and accelerating wearable technology innovation worldwide."
Apart from collaborating for designing and developing of the smartwatch fossil is also planning to work with Intel’s investment division Intel Capital to co-invest in emerging technologies.
