Infor, a provider of business applications, has released the new version of its workforce management (WFM) software Workbrain version 5.1 that enables clients efficiently manage their expanding global workforces cost effectively.

Infor claims that computing frequency has been significantly improved from the previous version, resulting from a massive code optimisation effort aimed at reducing overall hardware requirements and associated costs.

The company said the new version offers improvements such as up to 80% reduction in time taken for file import routines, up to 40% faster response times for key end-user functions, and up to 35% less CPU consumption during key tasks.

Infor Workforce Management product manager Owen Brangwyn said customers have every reason to be excited about this release and the product roadmap the company is executing against going into 2011 and beyond.

"We have provided a current and stable technical platform for an unprecedented evolution of the product in future releases. It’s a big step forward, and it’s just the beginning," Brangwyn said.
