IBM Corp finally got off the fence yesterday and said that once the Hardware Reference Platform design for PowerPC machines is set in concrete, its future PC Power Series machines will adhere to it (making it a bit silly to buy the first generation, since it will be obsolete by the second half of next year, when IBM will have machines to the new standard ready), and it then will support Apple Computer Inc’s Mac OS on the machines. In the meantime, it is trying to reach a licence agreement with Apple so that it can pre-load the software.
