Created to use technology to help its designers build new products, IBM has expanded its Studios footprint to the UK and Ireland.
Both the Hursley and Dublin Studios will work on designing IBM products and user experiences around the Watson big data platform, security, collaboration and IoT.
IBM said that skill sets in its Studios include user interface/visual design, graphic artists, user experience designers, design developers, including mobile developers, industrial designers, agile scrum, social media experts, data scientists and marketing specialists.
It also said that staff from IBM Design and IBM Interactive Experience’s 9,700 designers, developers and consultants will collaborate with clients to create data-driven design solutions which span from virtual showrooms, to immersive customer experiences, business apps, content and more.
Phil Gilbert, GM at IBM Design, said: "People’s expectations of enterprise tech have changed because of innovative design they see in devices and apps used at work and play.
"These studios will join a global network that is transforming how tech is created with user experience at its core."
IBM said four other Studios will open in Europe by the end of the year in Warsaw, Prague, Hamburg and Paris, adding to its more than 20 Studios around the world.
