Hyundai is the first car company to deploy Google’s Android Auto on vehicles.
Hyundai’s 2015 Sonata will premiere the OS that will connect with the user’s smartphone running on Android 5.0 "Lollipop" OS or later.
The solution blocks the driver’s phone screen to avoid drivers looking at their mobiles while on the road.
The company said the Android Auto integrates the advanced driving-related functions of the user’s smartphone with the familiar centralised screen, physical controls and microphone of their car.
The app also allows users to access Google maps by voice control, steering wheel controls or a touch screen on the dashboard.
Hyundai added that several models from now on will feature the solution.
Dave Zuchowski, CEO at Hyundai Motor America said: "Android Auto aligns with Hyundai’s core interior design principles of safety, intuitiveness and simplicity.
"We launched this highly anticipated feature on our best-selling Sonata, adding to our promise of value. With the launch of Android Auto, we provide more owners with the experience of cutting-edge technology."
