HSC Software Inc, Santa Clara, California says it is shipping SantaFe Media Manager, a multimedia database for MS-DOS micros designed to enable users to store and retrieve live video, still images, text and audio in a relational database; users also get access to HSC’s SantaFe Videographics Utility for capturing live video from video cassette recorders or cameras, saves them as standard Autodesk .FLI files and can be used with Animator or 3-D Studio, and the product supports direct recording of speech and music to the database with search functions that enable specific record retrieval based on text, values, graphics or audio information – provided you can remember the tune you just wrote and played into the database for future use; photo-realistic still images and video can be drawn from the database, sequenced and played back in order for use in presentations; the firm gave no price or hardware and software requirements for the product.
