London-based Computer rental company Hamilton Rentals Plc has signed an agreement with Lotus Development Corp, which enables its customers to rent Lotus software to run on the personal computer of their choice; Hamilton personal computer business manager Martin Finn believes the agreement with Lotus removes one of the major obstacles to personal computer rental – with hardware prices continually falling, some customers were put off renting because they had to buy their software packages; he estimates that software rental will add between 20% and 25% to the cost of renting a machine; Hamilton has a similar rental agreement with Claris Corp, which specialises in packages for Apple Computer Inc’s Mac.
