NetTech Inc’s EView/Open application, a Unix-based tool for managing IBM Corp MVS and SNA environments through VTAM, is being integrated into Groupe Bull’s Integrated System Management software. Eview/Open is aimed at problem and fault management for IBM MVS systems and SNA networks, providing an LU6.2 interface between SNA legacy systems and open systems. The system requires only minimal changes to existing hardware and software, Bull said. Having EView/Open on its IMS system, Bull said, provides users with the ability to manage SNA resources via Integrated System Management’s graphical interface, reduced mainframe resource costs from downsizing SNA management functions to the Integrated System Management workstation and increased operator pro ductivity through the use of Integrated System Management’s automation and consolidation capabilities. Bull now counts nine Integrated System Management application providers, including 3Com Corp, Cabletron Systems Inc, Raxco Inc, Epoch Inc, Orsyp, Remedy Corp, Unilog and Bay Networks Inc.
