Under terms of the five-year contract, 300 staff from LloydsTSB’s IT department will transfer to Fujitsu Services, with another 180 temporary Manpower contractors transferring to employment agency Adecco.

Fujitsu Services will manage over 80,000 devices including PCs, laptops, and some servers, as well as hardware supply, configuration, and installation. The Tokyo, Japan-based company will provide IT support, helpdesk, and maintenance services.

LloydsTSB’s deal with Fujitsu is another example of the trend of multi-sourcing, where a client has contracts with a number of best-of-breed suppliers to manage its IT infrastructure, rather than signing a mega-deal with a single vendor.

Last December, LloydsTSB announced a GBP 500m ($950m) deal with IBM Global Services to upgrade its voice and data networks over the next seven years.
