Fujitsu Ltd has come out with an enhanced model of its EFS optical disk electronic filing system which now supports an AutoRec automatic recognition function, which is incorporated into a new F3077A1 hardware Keyword Recognition Unit: any word in any docement stored in the electronic filing system can be specified for automatic registration, and subsequent retrieval and printing of documents can be achieved solely by use of a mouse: the filing system has capacity for 10,000 A4 documents which are read in by a scanner, and the AutoRec keyword device simplifies the work of entering as well as retrieving documents from a heavily-loaded syste; price for the AutoRec unit is $9,200 with options of a keyword automatic registration device and a parallel interface adaptor taking it up to $12,857, and the 5.25 disk filing system in its standard configuration starts at $41,000; the new facility ships next February and Fujitsu is looking to get 2,000 of the things away over three years.
