Tel Aviv-based security solutions start-up Yoggie Security Systems Ltd is being backed by private investors from New York headed by Early Bird Capital, a group of private investors from Silicon Valley headed by Silicom Ventures, and a group of Israeli private investors.

The business is led by Shlomo Touboul, the founder and past CEO of Shany Computers, Finjan Software, and Runway Telecom, and is expected to launch an enterprise mobile security product some time this year.

Details of the features and purpose of the product are sketchy, and Yoggie is not saying much about its product marketing plans until after it has completed a beta test process with several prospective customers. All that it will say is that its product will let IT shops extend corporate-level security to protect roaming laptops and other mobile computing devices to enforce consistent IT security policies.

Yoggie is not another form of end-point security solution, a company spokesperson said. The combination of its hardware/software design, with a physical separation between the laptop’s networking infrastructure from the Yoggie’s network aparatus is one of its unique features. In the past Touboul has specialized in the development of behavior-blocking technologies to combat new and unknown viruses and spyware.

The company indicated it is considering extending the initial investment round.
