The Japanese online investment firm, which is owned by Softbank Investment Corp, has deployed the new Linux-based system to improve its performance and response times as well as lower the total cost of the system. The company estimates that the new system is nearly 10 times more cost-effective, while hardware and processing costs have been reduced by 20%.
The application was developed using BEA Systems Inc’s WebLogic Server and WebLogic JRockit Java Virtual Machine and is deployed on Red Hat Inc’s Linux Advanced Server operating system on Intel Corp processor-based servers.
