Distributed Processing Technology Inc, Maitland, Florida, has launched a new SCSI Performance Package to be included with all its cache-convertible SmartCache Plus SCSI controllers. The SmartCache Plus is a cache-convertible SCSI adaptor, available in 32-bit and 16-bit AT models. It can be used as an entry-level non-caching adaptor, or with caching module and 16Mb RAM in large server and multi-user systems. The SCSI disk mirroring module, a hardware-based implementation of RAID 1 technology, can also be added to the controller. The new package, comprising firmware and software design improvements, comes with all EISA and AT controllers at no additional cost and is shipping to both US and international markets. SmartCache Plus EISA is $940 the AT version $710; both come with SCSI cable and device drivers for Novell NetWare, Santa Cruz and Interactive Unix and OS/2.
