Spanish company Dimoni Software SA intends to target larger organisations than in the past with its accounts and management programs, president Juan Jose Trilles Cano told Computerworld Espana. With this aim in mind, Dimoni has developed GEN, a standardised business management system. Described as a kind of Informix-Oracle hybrid, GEN will make its debut at SIMO ’92. According to Cano a number of foreign companies are interested in taking part in the Esprit project using GEN. He says Dimoni faces a dilemma of either staying content with its slice of the market, or opening up new markets by merging with a multinational: he suggests that some smaller software companies are likely to go under as a result of the increasing involvement of hardware manufacturers in software development.
