Dell has expanded its commercial PCs lineup with the launch of ultra-portable Latitude 13, which comes with support for desktop virtualisation through certification from Citrix and VMware, Broadcom TruManage technology and Dell ImageDirect service that allows IT create, update and deploy system images from a secure online location.
According to Dell, the Latitude 13 includes features such as remote manageability, optional integrated webcam/microphone and bluetooth. It comes with customised security offerings including solid-state drives (SSD), full disk encryption (FDE), trusted platform module (TPM) control and computrace software.
The new latitude 13 offers on-the-go connectivity with optional WWAN mobile broadband, 802.11g/n wireless LAN options. It comes with optional external blu-ray disc drive or ability to download photos to the 5-in-1 media-card reader.
In addition, Dell has updated its Precision M6500 dual core mobile workstation with an option of Intel Core i7 or Core i5 dual core processors.
The Precision M6500 features optional RGB LED edge-to-edge 17-inch screen with 100% user-selectable colour gamut support; support for 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, XP along with Red Hat Linux 5.3 64-bit; offers optional RAID 5 and three internal storage devices; and optional USB 3.0, 3.2MP camera and Gobi 2.0 support, the company said.

With the Latitude 13 and Dell Precision M6500 dual core, we’re refocusing our solutions to ensure we solve key customer concerns such as mobility and collaboration.”
