Dell opened its first EMEA IoT lab in Limerick, Ireland, to build, model, architect and test smart solutions.
The site is part of Dell’s IoT division launched on May 28, 2015 and will work on end-to-end IoT, including hardware, software and services.
Dermot O’Connell, executive director for OEM Solutions at Dell EMEA said: "Dell can support OEMs throughout their entire product lifecycle, from endpoints, networking, compute, and storage to large scale data management, analytics software and services."
Andy Rhodes, executive director IoT Solutions at Dell said: "Current IoT solutions offer lengthy implementations, overly ambitious scoping and complex proprietary designs that raise risks and costs.
"We are helping customers build out their solutions pragmatically with a broad portfolio of IoT-enabling offerings including security, manageability, services, analytics, infrastructure, and endpoints."
Dell also unveiled a gateway to help customers start with their solution development, which can be used as a proof-of-concept with future Dell gateways.
The gateway was designed to develop IoT applications compatible with different OSs, including Wind River Linux, Ubuntu and Microsoft Windows IoT, and includes an Intel processor with two cores.
