Datatec’s subsidiary, Logicalis Group, has announced it will acquire the four European arms of the IT services group, 2e2 for €24m. This will exlude, however, their UK business.

As part of the deal, Logicalis will buy 2e2’s businesses in Spain, Ireland, the Netherlands and the Channel Islands.

Logicalis chief executive, Ian Cook, said that the Spanish business is strategically important to strengthen relationships with the company’s multinational clients in Latin America.

"The Service Management Consultancy business further enhances our services offering and allows us to introduce it to Logicalis’ wider international audience," Cook said.

"It also allows us to deliver an enhanced portfolio of communications and collaboration, data centre, managed services and cloud services to these new markets."

The Spanish operation based in Madrid and Barcelona is an IBM focused system integrator and operates under the Morse brand, while Ireland business also operates on same brand and it is offers enterprise hardware & software applications and services focused on IBM, NetApp and HP.

The Channel Islands operation offers managed services and information and communications technology services, while the Netherlands business offers IT service management consulting services.

The 2e2 businesses being sold generated revenues of about $150m and reported earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of $8m during 2012.

Upon the completion of the acquisition, around 500 employees from 2e2 will join Datatec and will operate under the Logicalis banner and offer an extensive communications and collaboration, data centre, managed services and cloud services portfolio.
