Portugal’s pay TV and Internet provider ZON Multimédia has two-year contract with Ericsson to operate and maintain its data centres, including hardware, software, operating systems, databases, backups and storage.
Under the agreement, Ericsson will work as consulting, systems integration and managed services partner for ZON Multimédia, contributing to the optimisation of IT processes and use of industry standards, such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
Ericssion also optimises the operational performance of ZON’s information systems and information technologies (IS/IT).
The contract will enable ZON to gain efficiency and flexibility in its operations, focus on providing enhanced quality for its customers, and launch new services.
ZON Multimédia chief operating officer Luís Lopes said, "Ericsson has proven to have the required capability to deliver IT services and I am confident that this deal will allow us to become more efficient in our operations and more competitive in the market."
